| This summer, be
sure to catch Delfeayo and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra Tuesdays at Snug Harbor
and Thursdays @ Sweet Lorraine’s. Formed in 2008, the 15-piece UJO
is comprised of N’Orleans’ finest jazz musicians and primarily
features a blues-based repertoire. At any given set you might hear Basie,
Ellington, traditional New Orleans polyphony or riff-based (spontaneously
arranged) compositions. The Uptown Jazz Orchestra has quickly become one
of the Crescent City’s hottest tickets. |
